As of March 13, 2020 the NC CIAE implementation has been delayed for all assessment types. Please continue to send all PCS requests to Liberty Healthcare of North Carolina until further notice.
In January 2020, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services announced that KEPRO was awarded the contract as the Comprehensive Independent Assessment Entity (CIAE). This award will expand the existing independent assessment program to include additional Medicaid Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS), thereby significantly improving coordination of services. This initiative will provide beneficiaries a long-requested single point of entry for accessing Medicaid LTSS services and streamline the processes between initial contact and service or program enrollment. This contract will also support transition of care for LTSS members moving in and out of managed care at go-live.
KEPRO will conduct intakes, assessments, and other screenings to determine eligibility for the following LTSS programs:
- State Plan Personal Care Services (PCS)
- Community Alternatives Program for Children (CAP/C)
- Community Alternatives Program for Disabled Adults (CAP/DA)
KEPRO will provide management and oversight for the Preadmission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR) process Level II and serve as North Carolina’s Local Contact Agency (LCA) for interested Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) residents, with options for transitioning from institutional care to community-based living as well as those transitioning out of managed care.
KEPRO is excited about our new relationship with North Carolina and is committed to delivering effective and efficient customer service to North Carolinians.
